Beginning in June, Germany welcomes talented workers with an "opportunity card."

Beginning in June 2024, Germany will launch a new program to make it easier for qualified individuals to find employment overseas. The "opportunity card," which will be introduced by the government, will allow qualified people to look for employment throughout the nation.

A minimum of six points must be earned by applicants in order to be eligible for the opportunity card.

The cardholder must be able to support oneself financially for the full year that the card is valid. Up to 20 hours per week of work trials or supplementary jobs are permitted.

Furthermore, the opportunity card may be renewed for an extra two years in the event that the applicant receives a job offer but is unable to obtain another resident visa for employment-related reasons.

The overall goal of the Opportunity Card's launch is to make it easier for qualified applicants to obtain work in Germany by avoiding time-consuming recognition processes. A minimum of two years of vocational training is necessary.
